Biafra Telegraph
It is a fact that emancipation of mental slavery of a
People is the most difficult task in freedom movement. When people have come to
live in lies for too long a time, they start to believe those lies to be true
and a way of life.
Ikom a Local Government Area in the northern part of
Cross River State, is a typical example of this scenario. The people grew up in
Lies fabricated by Britain/Nigeria and dished to them by their parents who were
equally victims of this mental State. So, the circle goes round and round from
generation to generation.
Today, we can only give thanks to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the
Director of Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) who took the task upon himself
to go deep through the roots of our History to excavate the Truth and swing to
Radio to hit us hard so we can make a U-turn.
For some years, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has persistently and
very courageously drummed the message of Reunion of all the people of Old
Eastern States because we are one People. We share same Culture and tradition
and that is what makes a Nation.
Before the emergence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (MNK), the
Leader of IPOB, many people in this part of the South-East, have never believed
that they have anything in common with their kit and kin in the Igbo speaking
parts of the same area. They have been brainwashed by the propaganda of the
Nigerian government sponsored by Britain. They have never believed that they
are Biafrans. They ignorantly attribute anything that have to do with Biafra to
Igbo tribe only.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, recently, did an exposition in a
Broadcast where he laid bare the fact that Culture has a distinct way of
defining a people. We dress alike, our traditions are same, signifying that we
share same ancestry.
An example is the Ekpe fraternity which are practiced
both by the Igbo people and the Ikom people is one of the unarguable features
that reveals the brotherhood between the duo.
Here in Ikom too many lies have been told about the
BIAFARA genocidal war of 1967-70 which started at a place called Gakim in Ogoja
Cross River State. Historical fact has it that it was Nigeria troops that
landed in Ogoja and struck first but Nigeria succeeded to twist this fact by
brainwashing Cross River People that it was actually the Igbos that struck,
started killing them, and claimed their properties. Big big lie! This lie has
lived with us for too long and destroyed the brotherhood once shared by our people.
Unfortunately, the Elders have failed to educate the
youths of this generation on the truth of the past.
Today, we the members of IPOB Family in Ikom, Cross River
State wish to seize this opportunity to plead with the Leadership of IPOB under
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to as a matter of urgency install Radio Biafra Transmitter in
this area to assist many who are willing to learn their true history to be able
to do that through the many lectures of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
God bless IPOB
God Bless Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
