■ 31 July 2021

I think the Department of State Services (DSS) might have killed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), in their custody, or they have tortured him to the state of death on July 26th 2021, these were the thoughts coming to my mind upon hearing he was not brought to the court.

I may not be wrong, as today events have proven. When the judge presiding over the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Justice Binta Nyako asked the DSS agents the reason they did bring Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to the court they said it's because of logistics, in a simple language, they don't have a vehicle, or there's no available vehicle to bring him to the court, that is the reason for the suspicions, that is the reason for the tensions, and that is the reason for the doubts about his state of health.

There's something the DSS is not telling us. At this point, I began to think that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is no longer safe wherever he is. Justice Binta Nyako refused to continue the court proceedings in the absence of the defendant Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, she said, and I quote, "I will never continue this trial in the absence of Nnamdi Kanu". And the case was adjourned to October 21st 2021.

The court heard the application of the defendant's lawyer to allow his lawyers, family and friends who wish to visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the DSS facility to do so, and it was granted by the court. The IPOB lead counsel, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, confirmed the news through his official Facebook page; the massage reads below.

"Henceforth, Our Client Mazi Nnamdi Kanu cannot only be visited by his lawyers, but relatives and friends provided it is only two persons in every such visit, on his visiting Days.

It is now an Order of the Court. Anybody within the above classification will be profiled by Our Head of Chambers" The court has granted an order allowing people to visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the instruction on how he should be visited, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor announced on October 27th 2021, that he would be visiting his client Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on July 29th 2021.

He promised to keep the world updated on the outcome of the visit. Furthermore, he made it very clear that steps have been taken to notify the DSS of this impending visit as the whole world waits for the outcome of the meeting On July 29th 2021, only for us to find out that the DSS has denied IPOB lead counsel Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor access to his client Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a clear violation of court order.

With what transpired at the Abuja Federal High Court on July 26th 2021, and today the DSS denying IPOB lead counsel Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor access to his client in their custody, it's now obvious that the DSS might have killed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, God forbid a bad thing! First, they tortured him and denied him access to doctors and medication; secondly, they refused to bring him to court, and again they had denied his lawyers accessed to him even when the court ruled that his lawyers must be allowed to see him.

The questions here are; If Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is well, why have the DSS refused to bring him to the court on July 26th 2021, without any cogent reasons? Why did they deny his lawyers and family members access to see him in a clear violation of court order? What are they hiding from us? Is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu still alive? On this note, I am putting the International Community on notice. Should anything bad happen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the DSS custody, the Kenyan Government and the Nigerian Government should be held responsible; Kenya single-handedly masterminded the extraordinary rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The whole world must be aware that the life of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in great danger. The people of goodwill and good conscience must rise now to condemn this heinous crime that the Nigerian Government is currently committing over the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is innocent of all the charges levelled against him; if you think that he is not innocent of all your false charges against him, why not give him a fair trial even in your court then? If found guilty, you jail him. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be released by the Nigerian Government unconditionally because he has committed no crime known to any law in the world; self-determination is not a crime.

For record purposes, the last time IPOB lead counsel was allowed access to his client Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was on the July 19th 2021, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor had visited him since then till this very moment, nobody knows the condition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the DSS custody, they should allow his lawyers, family members and friends access to check on him and know how he is doing.
