We received an intelligence Report from Udi LGA of Enugwu state, that there have been heavy attacks of the residents of Amachala village since 18th June - 19 June, 2019 by Terrorist Fulani Herdsmen. So many of the villagers have been injured as a result of wounds sustained from the sporadic shooting by the armed Herders.

A reliable source had reported to us that on the 18th of June, 2019, Fulani Herdsmen assaulted some farmers in their Maize farm because the farmers expressed shock over the manner the Herdsmen grazed their Cattles in their farms and thereby destroyed their crops. The Herdsmen snatched the little crops they were carrying on their heads and threw up for their Cattles and chased them away from the farm while their Cattles destroyed the farm completely. As if that was not enough, the Herdsmen organized themselves and moved into the community at night shooting sporadically while the people fled.

Next day was 19th June, 2019, the Fulani Herders came again in the market square of the Village, harassing the Traders and started shooting into the Air while the Traders fled and abandoned their goods.

Information from an eye witness, said that 6 days back a helicopter landed in the bush area where these Fulani Herdsmen camped and the noise from the location was too much that he had to trace it. He saw a magnitude of Fulani Herdsmen gathered around it and bringing down things from the Aircraft.

Recall, that on the 18th of April, 2019, we reported a similar occurrence in Enugu and it was Hunters that told a similar story of a Helicopter that landed in the forest. The incident was reported to the Police but nobody has heard anything about the outcome.

We are alerting the ENUGU state Government for Records purposes and to investigate the unprovoked attacks and killings.
