SIGNIFICANCE OF SEPTEMBER 14 GENERAL STRIKE

September 14 2018 was declared a general strike day, in other word Sit- at- Home in the entire old Eastern Region of Nigeria, by the leadership of the Indigenous people of Biafra. This was to mourn the death of the Indigenous people of Biafra killed by the Nigerian government through the sabotage of the five south-east governors, namely, Okezie Ikpeazu; Dave Umehi; Ugwuanyi; Willie Obiano, and Rochas okorocha. Other saboteurs include the Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by John Nnia Nwodo, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and Bishop Chukwuma etc.

On September 2017, the Nigerian government through her military, used operation Python dance 2 to invade the entire south-east and in particular the house of the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. In the same invasion, many indigenous people of Biafra were molested and killed, while the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents are missing to date.
Recently, decomposed bodies of some of the persons missing during the invasion were found in a forest at Ukwa local government of Abia state.

There was a total shut down of the States of the old eastern region during the September 14, 2018, exercise. The compliance was absolute, which showed that the Indigenous people of Biafra are in support of the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra. It was also a mock referendum for the restoration of Biafra because it is the voice of the people saying ‘give us Biafra’. When the leadership of IPOB declared the general strike there was uproar from the same people that masterminded the killing of the innocent indigenous people of Biafra.

The general strike was also used to tell the Nigerian government and her military that the launch of operations Python dance 3 in the southeastern States and crocodile smile 3 in their so-called South-South States were not welcomed by the people because the region is perfectly in peace except the incessant molestation, killing, extortions and kidnapping orchestrated by the same military that launched the operations.

The military should go to the north of Nigeria precisely in the northeast where Boko Haram is ravaging and killing innocent people and Nigerian soldiers. In facts, launching operations in a peaceful zone is indeed an evidence of continued genocide against the people of Biafra. The Nigerian military continuously parade their war machines in peaceful southeast, while shying away from the volatile area of the northeast where Bokoharam have started raising their black flags in some communities.

If they think their python dance will intimidate us into abandoning this divine project of Biafra restoration, they have better think again.
