A PEACEFUL PROTEST BY IPOB AGAINST THE PROPOSED WATERWAY BILL/ RUGA PROJECT IN RIVERS STATE

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Igweocha, Rivers State, stormed the Streets of the entire State, protesting against the proposed Waterway Bill which intends to take the Ownership and control of all Waterways away from the State Governors and handed over to the Presidency. The protesters matched in solidarity making their voices loud.

Recall that recently, the same Federal Government disguised itself using the face of "RUGA Settlement" to forcefully take the land from the Indigenous People of Biafra and hand over to the Fourth most deadly Terror Group in the World known as FULANI HERDSMEN. The rejection of this evil Bill by the entire Masses of the Southeast was overwhelming.

During one of the Senate sessions in the 9th National Assembly, the House went up in flames at the mention of the RUGA Project. The Senators were at opposing ends almost condescended into physical combat and the Bill was set aside.

Recently again, the same Government of Mohammed Buhari came up with a new Bill called "Waterway Bill." The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, was quoted to have said on Monday 26th August 2019, that the National Assembly will ensure that the Bill is re-introduced. This is another anti-people ploy being floated from the Executive to the Legislature to completely devastate Biafraland and take over.

If this Waterway Bill should scale through at the Senate, it simply means, a complete handover of State lands and Waterways into the hands of the President. Since the President has pressed too hard to forcefully take control of the land of the people to no avail, he has now resorted to seeking ownership of Waterways.

The intention of the Nigerian President is to, cleverly hand over the entire land to the Murderous Herdsmen to continue ravaging our farmlands, destroying farm produce, raping Women, killing the People and painfully, without prosecution or even caution.

Armed with these ugly trends, the Igweocha family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Saturday 31st August 2019, joined their counterparts from other States to stage a warning protest to the Nigerian Government and her Advisers to steer clear with their evil plots to overrun the Land.

We must continue to resist any effort by Federal Government to take our Land forcefully. BIAFRA land is not for sale.
