THE CONNIVANCE OF THE NIGERIAN MILITARY IN ELECTION RIGGING

The problem with Nigerian military cannot be simply reduced to a sentence. In other words, I'm saying that the problem is enormous, they are very vast, and the problems fall on two levels First level is the effects, the other is the more fundamental and remote causes of the problems; effects, election rigging, killings and kidnapping of innocent members of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).

At the level of effects, people have talked over issues like mono-cultural duty of the army, which is to guide against any foreign aggression and protection of the territorial borders of the country. Lots have been said about corruption, while the Nigerian military is at the level of fundamental causes of the corruption and rigging of elections. Biafrans are convinced that elections in Nigeria would not be stripped off the usual violence, Nigeria politicians must play their dirty games.   Let us take Igweocha (Port Harcourt) for instance, reports from the NTA (Nigerian Televisions Authority) the Nigeria military according to their press conference, more than 25 Biafran youths were shot, scores injured including a youth corps member. Many fictitious results were announced in favour of the ruling party.  Furthermore, the Independent National Electoral commissioner in Imo state said that he announced the false result under duress.

Reports reaching this desk of Abia Writers has it that the military colluded with party agents and chieftains to manipulate the exercise and results in many areas and INEC officials were not left out. Apart from number of reported cases of violent conducts in Lagos state, and other parts of Nigeria that were marred by violence.

 Corrupt politicians would naturally use their power, be it of incumbency or not to handpick their successors to succeed them in order to cover-up their crimes. This is another form of strong election crime "rigging" in Nigeria." Which is business as usual. In fact, many foresaw and rightly too, that the main political problem, is the succession, that is, why the APC led government used the military to rig the election by carrying ballot boxes at gun point. Unstable political environment in Nigeria is a problem but there is no solution proffered to it by the Nigerian government

The call of Biafrans for the restoration of Biafra nation is not for nothing. The international observers bore witness to all these electoral crimes against the people. Future generations of Biafrans will not forgive those who has led us into this mess or those who are in a position to do something but decide to do nothing.

 Biafra restoration is our last hope.
