It is obvious that the people of Asaba will forget so
soon the Asaba massacre of October 1967, that took the life of over 1000 people
of Asaba.
The Asaba massacre, as it would be known, was only one of
many such post pogrom atrocities committed by Nigeria soldiers during the war.
It became a particular abomination for Asaba residents, as many of those killed
were titled Igbo Chiefs and folks alike, and their bodies were disposed of with
reckless abandon in mass graves, without regard to the wishes of the families
of the victims or the town's ancient tradition.
Even as at today the Hausa Fulanis that carried out the
atrocities never one day regret or apologize to people of Asaba. The likes of
major General Ibrahim Haruna who said “as the commanding officer and leader of
the troops that massacred 1000 men in Asaba, I have no apology for those
massacred in Asaba, Owerri, and Ameke-item. I acted as a soldier maintaining
the peace and unity of Nigeria. If
anyone apologize they did it on their own capacity as for me I have no
apology" maintaining the unity of Nigeria by killing the Indigenous people
of Asaba, "unity by force "
They "Nigeria govt "systematically hide all
this, today history is not been thought in school for some evil purposes.
The good people of Asaba-Biafran must obey the clarion
call to BOYCOTT NIGERIA ELECTION IN BIAFRA LAND for nothing good has ever come
out from Nigeria election if not death.
