Prince Emmanuel Kanu with some Hausa Youths

By Nwaiwu Chukwuebuka, Ugochinyere Onyechere [Editor], 11/10/2017

Prince Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra has refuted claims made by Nigerian Media, DailyTrust that he has declared support to one Nigeria.

Clarifying the acclaimed support to one Nigeria, Prince Emmanuel said he never made such statement purported by media and in circulation on various social media platforms and  urge everyone to disregard the statement.

He also encouraged Biafrans to remain resolute and distance selves from Nigerian poor journalism as they are being used to distract Biafrans from the call for a referendum to determine Biafra restoration.

In one of the Dailytrust posts, 19th September 2017 with link: it credited that Prince Emmanuel Kanu preached one Nigeria during "Non-violence Agitation and ethnic harmony" organized for agitators from Arewa, Oduduwa, Biafra, the Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), among others by the Foundation for Ethnic Harmony in Nigeria (FEHN) which was held in Lagos.

According to statement granted to Umuchiukwu Writers Correspondent, Prince Emmanuel Kanu said  "the program was scheduled on 14 September 2017, which I was invited to play part in" it is quite pathetic and surprise to me when the news broke out that I (Emmanuel Kanu) Arewa and Ooduduwa declared support for one Nigeria it is very funny".

"There is no Atom of truth in such news publication if there is one then, I challenge the propagators to provide evidence since the recent video circulating various media houses has no clip of me making such declaration.

He went on  “the news which has gone viral is as a result of the Nigerian media unprofessionalism; the brown envelope media house known as Daily trust and their cohorts only needed to generate traffic".

Excerpt of Prince Emmanuel Kanu Speech

"Like we have always done, IPOB is a non-violent movement. We want to make it known to the entire world that IPOB is a non-violent movement “Nobody is against the unity of Nigeria as a matter of fact. What Nnamdi Kanu is talking about is that he wants us to be a free people and Nnamdi Kanu's very concerned is to attack those policies that are affecting Biafrans as a people.

"Of course, you and I will agree that we have got it wrong, Nigeria system is completely wrong. We need a new system which is our new nation (Biafra) that would work for our people; we need a new system that would favour everyone in terms of equity and justice for everybody (Biafrans).

" My message is for people to remain non-violent. Agitation is allowed anywhere in the world.”

"Because I believe through Biafra referendum all these issues will be amicably resolved". He concluded
