There is this saying that children and youths are the future leaders of a nation, any nation without youths have no future. This is the reason on 25th July 2017 the Abia writers in conjunction with Abia state family of IPOB, organized a one day conference tagged "Children Conference".
The special guest on that day was the wife of IPOB leader Lolo Uchechi Okwu Kanu. Other dignitaries graced the occasion. It was a very memorable day in the life of Biafran children in Abia state.

Children from different family zones in Aba and its environs who attended wore their family/zonal IPOB tee shirts, which made the occasion very colourful in spite of the weather condition. The children were accompanied by their parents/guardians. It was an eventful day. Lots of activities took place and adequate security was put in place to guide and guard the Biafran children who were in attendance.

At about 12.34pm Lolo Uchechi Okwu Kanu arrived the place of the event, No.77 school Road opposite MTN office facing Port Harcourt Road, with her entourage. When she alighted the car, she was delighted at seeing the multitude of IPOB members who formed a chain both sides of the vehicle eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of her. Others had to climb the nearby communication mast to see her face.

The Abia state coordinator, in the person of Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha, led the children who ushered the guest of honour to where she had an audience with IPOB members who lost their loved ones during this struggle, most especially, those who died at the national high school Aba.

In her speech, she said that it was very pathetic how the Army and police massacred unarmed IPOB members who were praying in the field. She condemned such barbaric act, and equally consoled the bereaved. She made it known to them that the names of their loved ones have been written in marble in Biafra. She then proceeded to the 2nd floor where she met with the IPOB children who received her with a welcome song. Thereafter the children sang the Biafran National Anthem and the conference started proper.
