The race for the restoration of Biafra and the total emancipation of Africa as a whole added to its levels as the people of southern Biafra were present on the 22nd day of June 2017 at the hometown of the great IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The home town of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu almost turned to a pilgrimage place as the citizens of Biafra from Izon ,Ibibio, Efik and others came in their numbers on coaster vans numbering more than six , to show solidarity with their Igbo brothers.

Upon the arrival of Nnamdi kanu and his father (onye Eze), the crowd stood to their feet and hailed both the king and the prince with songs, and sat down only at the command of the leader himself-Mazi Kanu, who amidst gladness and smiles, addressed the people showing how happy and contented he was having them before him.

He went further to lecture the populace on the history of Biafra. He told them that the name Biafra was given by an Ijaw man. He also told the IPOB faithfuls that some cultures practiced by the Igbos like Ekpe, igba ekpo(masquerade) etc is original to their calabar and Akwaibom cousins. He mentioned the similarities in the names of towns and villages in Igbo, which are same in some areas of southern Biafraland the Nigerian government called " south south" states.

Biafra is an ancient nation which existed for more than 5000years before the creation of anything called Nigeria, even older than Britain, which can be seen in the old world map. He made the people know that there is nothing like south south in geography. He told them "we are one blood".
According to him, " Igbo women and the women from other parts of Biafra land tie two pieces wrapper, which shows the height of their decency". He urged the southern Biafran brothers and sisters to pay deaf ear to the 'Igbo man is your problem' strategy used by the Hausa/Fulani parasites to "suck us dry of our God given resources both human and material".

Again, he pray them to continue fighting hard until Biafra is restored. He also told them not to have any iota of fear about Igbo domination because Igbos from time immemorial have never gone for conquest and will never start it tomorrow when Biafra comes. Further, He promised them that Biafra will be going back to how it was prior to the colonial era, which allowed every component part of Biafra land to control their own resources to the best of their abilities. The people who were happy to hear that hailed him amidst the joy.

Mazi Kanu, told his brethren from the river area of Biafra that Biafra will be laid on the foundations of equity and fairness. The visitors presented him with a machete, signifying a defensive weapon and to execute justice; a wrapper, which stands for strength and activeness, and a lamp, which symbolizes light that will always glow in the dark to show him the way.

An interview was granted by Elder Columbus zemadu from Agbura in yenagoa local government area. When asked his stand on the south south issue, he said that the name was a medieval name, which came into existence not long ago during the first tenure of Olusegun Obasanjo in office.
He said "I will not at this old age accept a name I didn't hear throughout my service years; moreover I am the one to name myself and not someone else”.

When asked what he has to say about the betrayal during the war? He said that the Igbos were at fault because of the fact that they didn't properly enlighten their cousins. "But we have however forgiven them as well as learnt our lessons from our mistakes".
