THE RE-UNITIFICATION OF THE EAGLES

Prior to Olusegun Obasanjo's led government in Nigeria, there was no such thing as "Niger Delta"; "South South". His regime classified some parts of Biafraland as Niger Delta, South South, especially the coastal region in Biafra land, whom they deceived into believing that they were not Biafran people.

This development was made for the single purpose of creating division among the people on one hand and on the other hand, to strip them of all the resources that they are blessed with and cloth them with the garment of 'Citizens of No Place'. 

The Nigerian government almost succeeded in their plot. And for many years now the riverine citizens of Biafra had believed the Nigerian government. But history turned round on the 22nd day of June 2017, when the Riverine Biafrans from Bayelsa , Akwa Ibom and many other places the federal government of Nigeria surnamed Niger Delta, South South, publicly declared not only their citizenship of Biafra but also their total support for the restoration of Biafra.

The location was the prestigious palace of His Royal Highness, Eze I. O. Kanu at Isi Ama Afara Ukwu Ibeku in Umuahia, Biafraland. On this date as afore stated, many riverine Biafrans payed a solidarity visit to the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the mentioned location, where they officially accepted being deceived over the years by Nigerian government and declared their readiness to discard those deceptions. It was a wonderful moment worthy of permanent remembrance. The declaration triggered unprecedented joy, awakening and celebrations. 

Many of the riverine Biafrans interviewed expressed great joy and satisfaction being Biafrans. 

Mazi Millar Abah, Elder Columbus Otuokwu and many more from the river areas of Biafra land, who jointly said that the word Niger Delta and South South, were given to them to enable the government of Nigeria “steal our resources and leave us to suffer". They thanked the Most High in Heaven for providing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu " to deliver us from national destruction ". 

They further explained that their correct name is Izon, which means good things, "but Nigerian government called us ijaw and all those other names which means nothing in any language".

Mazi Millar Abah said that he is 67years old, that the question every one need to ask is what our name was before Obasanjo called us Niger Delta, South South, etc. 

According to them, "the whole reason for calling us by the names Niger Delta and South South, instead of Biafra, is bounded in seeking to separate us from our originality-Biafra; but it is certain that, that whole attempt is foiled because one thing you can not steal from a child for too long, is the manifestation of his creator especially when the child's time of visitation is due". 

Indeed it was a day to always remember- brothers and sisters meeting their very blood again after so many years of being separated because of artificial demarcation via the inhumanity of Nigerian government. 

Apparently, it was the beginning of beginnings. 'The Eagles have started gathering’, you may say!
