BIAFRA: MYRIADS OF FOES, HAS INTERSOCIETY JOINED THEM?

Judging from its most recent tone used in addressing the issue of Biafra regarding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the supreme leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, one begins to wonder if the INTERSOCIETY too has joined the enemies of peace and progress to attack IPOB.

The Int’l Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety) in conjunction with a sister human rights group, known as Southeast Based Coalition of Human Rights Organizations (SBCHROs), on 2nd June 2017, made public a paper titled; To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Expected: Why The Three New Faces (Obi, Kanu & Ekweremadu) Of Socio-Political Reawakening In Igbo Land Must Not Be Found Wanting. In it, a very sensitive issue relating to the struggle for the restoration of Biafra which citizen Nnamdi Kanu, as they prefer to address him, resolutely represents was naively handled. Hence, this rejoinder.

Intersociety is one of the very few human rights organizations I have some respect for owing to its recent outspokenness in defense of the ordinary citizens. It was very vocal in condemning the infamous massacre of Biafrans at Nkpo, Asaba, Igweocha and other parts of Biafra land by the murderous Nigeria army. It was not found wanting in carrying out its primary responsibility of defending innocent citizens when Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was kidnapped and detained for over twelve months. Even when he was finally granted an ignominious bail, it was quick in damning it. Truly, INTERSOCIETY by their action then had won for itself a place in the hearts of people and the world over. But its most recent tone suggests it may have accepted to go the way of others in trading credibility for a piece of cake. I pray it's not so.

The Nigeria state like a drowning man has been getting hold of anything and anyone available in its bid to frustrate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, who is its worst nightmare of all time. It has steadily bribed many individuals and groups who were hitherto reputable into helping it to achieve its evil agenda of halting the current irreversible push for Biafra restoration. These persons of cheap consciences are often men and women of the fourth estate. The Yoruba brown envelopes gutter media being champions. They have in the past at the command of their Hausa/Fulani paymasters peddled a lot of lies and propaganda against IPOB and their leader. They even go as far as releasing fake news reports from nonexistent and untraceable media outlets. Thereby misinforming the world about Kanu and IPOB. This had made lovers of truth become extra careful about the source of every information emanating from the fantastically corrupt country.

It is therefore expected that a human rights based organization like INTERSOCIETY should be a reliable source of information, Such that anything it brings to the notice of the public would be trusted as properly investigated. Because knowing the right information is also part of the human rights it defends. Moreover, the right information would enable the people effectively pursue other rights of theirs. But in this case, the persons at INTERSOCIETY may have failed to do their homework well. Rather, they may have swooped on news released by 247ureporters, a team of hungry bloggers who are willing tools in the hands of the evil contraption called Nigeria. According to the INTERSOCIETY/ joint statement, 247ureporters reported that Mazi Kanu had received gifts to the tune of ninety-eight million nairas from Willie Obiano, the Anambra state governor. The group, in the report, urged citizen Kanu to through his men on Friday 2nd of June, 2017 at IPOB, clear the airway as it regards the authenticity of the story. Stressing that if the report is true, the victims of several massacres may have died in vain.

Owing to this, Biafrans are demanding for further clarifications since you (INTERSOCIETY) claim that you further enquired from a dependable and authoritative source. It then makes less sense asking Mazi Kanu to confirm the story. What Biafrans demand from you now, is to make the identity of this authoritative source public. We are eagerly waiting for further convincing proof(s), from you and your dependable source otherwise, you are about dragging your reputation to the dust.

It is quite obvious that INTERSOCIETY is still in the dark about the personality of Ohamadike. It's Ranking of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu alongside Peter Obi and Ekweremadu, in 2016, boldly underlines its ignorance. Ohamadike is too determined in the struggle to collect peanuts from criminals. If he could reject the juicy offers from Aso Rock even while in detention, what makes you think that he will accept the said gift from a traitor now that he is free? What kind of assistance do you think Gov. Willie Obiano could offer Kanu's father to make him denounce Biafra? Have you ever heard that he is lacking? Use your heads. Think ahead!

I just pray and hope that INTERSOCIETY has not struck a deal with the Nigerian government. But if that is the case then it is quite a pity because it is about to sink like its paymasters. However, I enjoin INTERSOCIETY to retrace its footsteps and toe the right path. Aligning with evil only pays momentarily. Remember that history will always tell posterity the truth.
