Orji Kalu and Buhari; two of a kind

Recently, Igbo Biafrans were told to be peaceful when it comes to issue involving them and Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian President. The reason given for this assertion was that Buhari has Igbo interest at heart. And the man that made the assertion was Orji Uzor-Kalu, former governor of Abia State. His very words were: "Ndigbo should stop condemning Buhari's administration, because he (Buhari) has the interest of Ndigbo at heart."

Well, believe this you will believe anything. Orji Uzor Kanu has always been a conman. For long he has been shoved out of the dubious political configurations in the country, from where the likes of him steal public funds and live large. That has ceased for quite some time now, and he has not liked it. In addition, his entire political machinations to crawl back into political reckoning have been recognized by the people punctured. Now he has just tried once again with this Buhari-has-Igbo-interest-at-heart stunt. Igbo Biafrans should ignore him.

What kind of Igbo interest will Buhari have at heart, when he has vowed that he will never to allow the Igbo to have control over their future nor to rule over themselves or the Northerners? What Igbo interest would Buhari have when he is extra-judicially holding Nnamdi Kanu, an illustrious Igbo son and Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in detention, even when he has committed no offence? Interesting to note is that in all the talk, Kanu was extra careful not to commit himself to the restoration of Biafra or call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

This Igbo are part of Biafrans in the location called Niger Delta, who could no longer benefit from their God-given aquatic life, which had been made extinct by petroleum production. Even farmers amongst them are also in dare-straits as they can no longer farm in that location for the same reason. The people have been agitating for a better deal, but have always been met with brutal military force and death. Did Buhari lower this yoke? The answer is a capital NO!

Igbo Biafrans from the location called South-east have also had their grievances about the evil contraption called Nigeria, which Buhari has been ruling with unmitigated hatred and wickedness against them. Indeed, their own case was worse because they have been killed in their thousands and millions, and Buhari’s hand has been in all the killings. To make the feeling of persecution worse, Igbo modern-day chief agitator, Nnamdi Kanu has been extra-judicially detained since October 2015.

Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), which Kanu leads, which have done nothing but campaign for the release of their leader, and the restoration of their dear fatherland, Biafra, have been massacred in the prayer-ground and during peaceful protests.

With the foregoing in mind, I began to suspect that Orji Uzor-Kalu was not only being moved by the tendency to con, but also by lose of sanity. I came to the conclusion that Biafrans should just ignore him. Uzor Kalu and Buhari are two of a kind – their interest is what they can dubiously and corruptly get out of the system not minding who is sacrificed or killed.
