Kanu: You can't keep a good man down

“Buhari should release Nnamdi Kanu, and then initiate talks for Biafra’s exit from Nigeria. That is his best option. Let those whose language he understands speak to him quickly. Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB have already won the moral battle.”

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and undisputed hero of Biafra, appears in court Monday, April 25. Viewed from all ramifications, Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s President and Hitler of our time should be advised that releasing Kanu unconditionally will be his best option.
It is on record that Buhari has played every stunt his dictatorial mind could come up with, yet the struggle for Biafra has not been degraded in any form. He has lied, cajoled, and tried to intimidate Kanu and Biafrans, and has tried to manipulate or browbeat the Judiciary. In fact, he has played all manner of legal shenanigans (in court and outside of it), yet it has gained him nothing but ridicule. In spite of all that he has done, Biafra restoration effort has not lost an atom of its momentum.
Buhari and his henchmen might ignore the advice to release Kanu unconditionally. They might squawk at it, or even laugh it off. But one thing is certain – they are holding the short end of the stick. Nigeria is dying very fast.
Buhari: failed in his permutations against biafra
Buhari, one of the most stupid rulers to emerge from Africa, had hoped that abducting Kanu and extra-judicially denying him bail would provoke IPOB to act violently so that he could tag those terrorists. But Biafrans were wiser; they disappointed him. He is now the known terrorist that is running a terrorist government.
Everything that transpired concerning the abduction and detention of Kanu, even the trumped up charges and trial, has exposed Buhari’s and his government. Buhari had moved, foolishly believing that the world today, and the worldview of those that supported Nigeria during the Biafra/Nigeria war of 1967 to 1970, would still do same today. But no! Things have changed considerably.
Kanu explains it better to Biafrans: “It is noteworthy and very commendable, that despite the spirited antics of our adversaries, the struggle has gathered the desired, awareness, momentum, sympathy and outright support, way beyond our expectations.
Biafran protests: commitment unequaled in history
“Your total commitment to the struggle and your determination and focus as a well-disciplined mass movement has gotten the attention of the world and frightened the enemy stiff…
“As the oppressor panic, they unwittingly wobble from one blunder to another, time is running out and Pharaoh and his army clearly have no choice than to let my people go”
Buhari must have thought that when Kanu boasted that Nigeria would be worse than Somalia if Biafra was not granted freedom, that he meant another shooting war between Biafra and Nigeria. Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, even Theophilus Danjuma – Buhari’s colleagues in the genocide against Biafrans – must have thought so too. They had at, different times and fora, boasted that they would crush Biafra a second time.
They all thought another Biafra/Nigeria war will still be fought in the encircled territory of Biafra. They did not know that the war would be fought from the United Nations (UN) to European Union (EU); from the United States of America (USA), Russia, Germany, Belgium, France, to the more than 88 countries where IPOB is recognized. They never fathomed that Biafra would be booming today. They did not know that Biafrans would make the whole world their battlefield, and therefore did not foresee that Biafra would resound across the world. Come Thursday, April 28, Biafrans will gather at EU office in Brussels, Belgium to campaign for the restoration of Biafra.
During the 67 - 70 Biafra/Nigeria war, nobody felt it on the Nigerian side – people were going about their businesses, schools were in session, footballs games were going while weddings and parties were taking place. But today, as the war of Biafra restoration is waged in its peculiar manner across the world, Nigeria is being crushed under its weight. Nigeria is already in a war situation; everywhere is locked down. Soon the situation would be worse than that of Somalia.
Buhari should release Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally; then initiate talks for Biafra’s exit from Nigeria. That is his best option. Let those whose language he understands speak to him quickly. Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB have already won the moral battle; Buhari and his henchmen should know that the game is up. There is now no justification for Kanu’s continuous detention and torture. Release him now!
