Tsoho; the unreliable judge
The ability of Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, to adjudicate on the case between Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra, and Nigeria government, is suspect. The world should beware of him.
I want to recall that one January 29, 2016, Justice Tsoho refused to grant bail to Nnamdi Kanu citing the followings:
1. That Nnamdi Kanu is a threat to national security.
2. That if released, Nnamdi might commit the same offence again.
3. That there was a probability that Kanu might jump bail because he possessed dual citizenship.
In essence, Tsoho declared a man guilty in case he has not even tried. So how possible is it that such a man should be allowed to adjudicate in a serious and high profile case that has to do with the freedom of Biafra?
Kanu: the prisoner of conscience
Now on February 19, 2016, Justice Tsoho ruled against a secret trial for Nnamdi Kanu. But funny enough this same judge reversed himself last Monday, March 7, without an appeal from the prosecutor. And one will ask why then is the sudden U-turn on his previous ruling?
How then can Nigerians trust a judiciary with such a judge, or a judicial system that such a man represents? Justice Tsoho is sure an international embarrassment to the legal profession, and all lawyers and all justices, and judicial workers in Nigeria should be hiding their faces in shame.
Without appealing a court ruling, this judge changed his mind thereby turning his previous ruling upside down without adherence to the appeal process. For this reason, it will be safe to state that Biafrans do not have any iota of trust in the capability of justice Tsoho to handle such a high profile case.
His blatant disregard for rule of law and his ability to judicious interpretation in this cast is suspect. Justice Tsoho is dangerous because he is more like a prosecuting attorney rather than a Judge.
One can no longer be in doubt of the claims that Justice Tsoho has been sent by Muhammadu Buhari with the mandate to jail Nnamdi Kanu. This is a claim which states that his prize for the job is the chief judge of the federal high court position, since he is next in line after the upcoming retirement of the only two judges above him.
We therefor advise Justice John Tsoho to remove himself from this case because he is obviously compromised and he naturally lacks the integrity and moral trust to handle this case as an impartial judge.
