Kanu: Prisoner of conscience
By Tim Tochukwu
For Biafra Choice Writers
“Fulanis have often prided themselves as being in many countries in Africa thereby threatening other peoples in their countries of host. Perhaps that is what is driving Buhari insane. But he should know that Biafrans are in many countries of the world".

The concluded plan to have Nnamdi Kanu killed did not start today. It started long before Nnamdi Kanu was even arrested. Buhari and his henchmen, even his supporters in Biafraland, knew that Kanu was on his right campaigning for Biafra. They knew no court would possibly convict him because he did not breach any law both at home and abroad.
Then when they discovered that his message was sinking fast among the people – especially the youths – then they decided to risk it, believing that either of two things, or both, would happen to stop the agitation. The first was his belief that the intimidation and torture on Kanu would make him sell out on the Biafra restoration struggle. That did not happen; Kanu had already promised his followers that “either Biafra flag is raised up; or I am lowered to the grave”.
Buhari’s second hope was that the Judiciary would be cowed to do his bidding, just as he succeeded in cowing the Judiciary during his first outing as military head of state. But that does not appear possible now as many influential lawyers and important personalities have spoken up and criticized the illegal detention and the trumped up charges against Kanu and colleagues.
Now knowing that he has failed in the two above, and his meanness and pettiness exposed, he is now running scared of what will happen if Kanu eventually gets out of his gulag and starts spilling the beans on what transpired with his detention. This is why the plan to make sure that he does not get out alive has thickened.
Onaiyekan: Advised Buhari to release and apologise to Kanu
But those who know him should quickly tell him to jettison that plan. He should know that it is a no-go area. If he is seeking what do, he should swallow his foolish pride and do what Archbishop John Onaiyekan, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, has advised him to do long before now. “ask your DSS to obey court orders, release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and tender an unreserved apology to him for the embarrassments you have caused him , his Pregnant Wife , family , and millions of his followers by detaining him and infringing on his rights without good reason” he had advised.
Okorocha: Buhari's chief houseboy
When Buhari’s chief houseboy in Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, made his comment last year that Kanu should be locked up for life, Biafrans knew assassination was on the cards. Biafrans still recalled some part of his rant: “On behalf of all the state governors in the eastern region, we have unanimously agreed with President Buhari not to release that terrorist and troublesome boy who does not know his roots. Nigeria will remain as one and the Igbos will be part of it.”
Right now, we know Buhari is running scared; he is running scared of the disgrace he has brought upon himself by kidnapping the Biafran Leader and torturing him in his show of primitive power. Biafrans know that it is being scared that is making think of killing Kanu. But the advice is that being scared should rather drive him in the opposite direction.
Those who know Buhari should caution him against this evil thought and tell him to jettison that plan. Killing Nnamdi Kanu is a no-go area. Fulanis have often prided themselves as being in many countries in Africa thereby threatening other peoples in their countries of host. Perhaps that is what is driving Buhari insane. But he should know that Biafrans are in many countries of the world, that times have changed greatly, and things changed considerably”
