The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Enugu state chapter gathered in Abakaliki the Ebonyi state capital on Saturday 3, 2018 with the aim to rectify the long lasted differences and division among members and executives of IPOB in the state.

IPOB Enugu started having issues with leadership and development of many factions between the middle of 2017 following the order by the supreme leader of IPOB  Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to shut down the activities of IPOB in the state, again that all the principal officers should step down as a result of disobedient to his command that Mazi Emeka Steven the then coal camp zonal coordinator should step down in order to carry out investigation on the case of association with Nigeria DSS levelled against him, this lead to a lot of controversy and divisions among the principal officers who gathered for the meeting to deliberate on it which in the end of the deliberation, eighty persons supported the motion to retain him against four who opposed it.

This incident seems to be the genesis of problems in Enugu state IPOB because many feel the wish of the majority which to them ought to win the vote was disregarded and violated, while some feel the command and control which guard IPOB was violated by the people whom instead of obeying the command and decision of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the matter chooses to go contrary to it.
This hurdles surrounding Enugu state IPOB to many people was among the reasons why Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the supreme leader of IPOB worldwide as well as director of radio Biafra and Biafra television, could not visit Enugu before the Nigeria army invaded his home at Afarukwu Ibeku Umuahia Abia state and unleashed mayhem on the members of IPOB who paid a solidarity visit to him.

The attack was among many carried out by the Nigeria security operatives on the innocent and  unarmed Biafrans who are peacefully agitating for their freedom and right for self-determination in the contraption called Nigeria, so many people was decimated following the attack on 10, 12, and 14 September, 2017 in the home of Nnamdi Kanu respectively.

Due to the position of Enugu state in the struggle for Biafra restoration also regarding the fact that Enugu is the proposed capital city of Biafra, hence the need to carry them along so the leadership of IPOB organised for a one day peace talk between the members and executives of IPOB in Enugu which was held in Abakaliki the capital city of Ebonyi state on Saturday.

George Onyibe the IPOB Africa representative represented the leadership of IPOB, some members of principal officers especially coordinators of different zones and units in Enugu alongside the state coordinator Mazi Ikechukwu Egbo and some of his state executives attended the peace talk meeting organised by the leadership of IPOB. Also in attendance was the Ebonyi state IPOB coordinator Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya and all his state principal officers.

Mazi George Onyibe while addressing them pointed out that the meeting was organised by the leadership of IPOB under the command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the aim is nothing but to rectify the numerous difference and division in Enugu state, according to him "we are not here to make argument about who is right or who is wrong, but to rectify the problem we had before and move forward in one accord as to restore Biafra which is our ultimate goal" he equally added that after the meeting, peace is anticipated to reign in Enugu state IPOB "we need peace in Enugu state IPOB and we want everybody and groups both the aggrieved to come together under one umbrella, combine forces for higher productivity, there is no need fighting each other but let us focus and fight our enemies" he added.

Room was given for questions, comments and contributions on the way forward, which was well attended to by George Onyibe who anchored the meeting for the benefit of IPOB generally.

Despite the level of turn up in the meeting, yet many people and some other groups did not attend the meeting for reasons best known to them, though message for the meeting was circulated to them according to Africa representative Mazi George Onyibe, who said he personally sent the message to them.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi state IPOB coordinator Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya on his address during the meeting urged them to come together and manage their misunderstanding because a house divided against itself cannot hold, "Enugu ought to be a role model state to many States including Ebonyi but with what is happening now it is impossible to be achieved, there must be conflict but the resolution is what matters most so try to resolve your internal problems"

The meeting which lasted for almost four hours ended peacefully as issues wrecking the struggle for Biafra restoration in Enugu state was believed to have been addressed as to move forward and get Biafra restored under the umbrella of IPOB headed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
