Bar. Ifeanyi Ejiofor Calls for Investigation, Professional Re-orientation of Agunechemba Operations in Anambra State

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq. (KSC), Dunu-Ezeugosinachi, has written an open letter to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, calling for an independent investigation into misconduct by some operatives of Agunechemba/Operation Udo Ga-Achi, particularly in Ekwusigo Local Government Area and Oraifite.

In the letter dated September 17, 2026, Ejiofor said his concerns were not directed at the security initiative itself or its disciplined personnel, but at what he described as instances of abuse of authority, political interference, excessive use of force and activities outside the statutory mandate of the security outfit.

Key Issues Raised

1. August 16, 2025 Anambra South Senatorial Bye-Election

Ejiofor said that a large contingent of Udo Ga-Achi operatives went to the residence of businessman Engr. Dr. Sir Emeka Okwuosa, CON, in Oraifite during the Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election.

He stated that the operatives attempted to enter the premises while armed and claimed that electoral materials were being kept there. According to Ejiofor, the allegation was subsequently found to be unfounded. He called for an independent investigation into the incident.

2. Interference in Ekwusigo APGA Primary

The letter also revealed that armed Agunechemba personnel accompanied Mr. Ikenna Ofodeme to an APGA State House of Assembly primary election venue at the Ekwusigo Local Government headquarters.

Ejiofor said that their presence  disrupted the electoral process and raised questions about the integrity of the collation and counting of results. He urged the authorities to investigate the allegation impartially.

3. September 14, 2026 Oraifite Operation

Ejiofor further raised concerns over an operation reportedly carried out in Oraifite on September 14, 2026, at about 6:00 p.m.

Ejiofor stated that some youths and motorcycle riders were forcibly taken away by security operatives, while motorcycles, phones and other personal belongings were reportedly confiscated.

He also said that a confrontation subsequently occurred between members of the Oraifite Community Security Outfit and some Agunechemba operatives at Aba-Uzoinor Junction, before the situation was de-escalated.

4. September 16 Audio Recording

Another major issue raised in the letter concerns an audio recording said to have circulated on September 16, 2026.

Ejiofor stated that a voice he identified as belonging to Ugochukwu Nnajiofor, popularly known as “Man Pass Man,” could be heard discussing a planned spiritual or “diabolical” attack against him.

Ejiofor called for the recording and the allegations arising from it to be investigated and said he was concerned about the safety of himself and his family.

Call for Command Accountability and Legal Compliance

Ejiofor urged Governor Soludo to subject individuals exercising significant command or operational influence within the affected areas to appropriate administrative, operational and, where evidence supports it, criminal scrutiny.

He specifically mentioned Ugochukwu Nnajiofor, Ikenna Ofodeme and Vincent Dike, while stressing that his request was for evidence-based investigation rather than predetermined condemnation.

Re-training Ahead of Future Elections

The former legal representative also called for professional retraining, legal re-orientation, operational supervision and human-rights sensitisation for personnel operating under Agunechemba/Operation Udo Ga-Achi.

He argued that the security outfit should remain focused on protecting lives and property, maintaining public order and assisting conventional security agencies within the limits of the law.

Appeal to Protect the Integrity of Agunechemba

Ejiofor maintained that his intervention should not be interpreted as opposition to Agunechemba. Instead, he said the security architecture should be protected from political interference, personal interests and abuse of authority.

He urged the Governor to ensure that the outfit operates under effective supervision and accountability and remains insulated from political or private interests.

He concluded by appealing to Governor Soludo to intervene urgently, saying that strengthening legal compliance and institutional accountability would help protect public confidence in the security initiative and safeguard citizens' rights.
