July 12 2020 | The Biafra Telegraph

The 12th day of July was a sad day for the IPOB Family in Anambra State as the Women Wing were having a very huge Program titled "Back To Our Root". This event attracted more than a thousand guests from all walks of life. There were Traditional Rulers, intellectuals from different bodies representing their Groups. IPOB top officers from various States were present at this grand event.

While the event was going on, a Security man at the gate ran to report that there were some youths at the Gate trying to break into the venue. According to them, a young man who killed their cult Member ran into the Venue and must be produced or they will breakdown the place. After much persuasion that the boy didn't run into the place, the blood thirsty Cult youths remained adamant to cause mayhem. They later left with threats of returning back.

The event continued and after about three hours, they came back armed with weapons and started attacking the venue. They damaged all the vehicles packed by the Guests. As they broke into the cars they looted. Vehicles packed at the event were over 50 cars and buses, 20 Tricycles and 50 Bikes.

While this was going on, some of them broke open the Gate and accessed the event. Guests started running to safety and in the process, many people were wounded. They cut off the hand of one young man while others sustained injuries. They robbed the guests of their personal effects.

The event came to an end with the tables and chairs broken, Food poured away.

The sad side of the criminality is that the Police came and towed all the vandalized Vehicles and Tricycles to their Office and trying to twist the fact on ground. Three IPOB Media Personnel that went to cover the scene after the attack were arrested by Nigeria Policemen.

Information reaching us this morning has it that the key members of the Cult Groups have been arrested.
