THE CANDLE NIGHT AS OBSERVED IN AKWA IBOM ON 29TH MAY 2020

THEME: We Must Remember Them.

There is an anonymous quote that says: "A generation that forgets it's root, will never have fruits." From Akwa Ibom State, we can boldly say Biafrans all over the world remembers their Root and have over the century desired to go back.

What do we remember on 30th May? We remember the genocide unleashed on us by NIGERIA, a fraudulent creation by the heartless Lord Lugard and his accomplice Flora Shaw.

Since the creation in 1914, Biafrans from the Southeast region of Nigeria have suffered ruthless killings and antagonisms by the rest of Nigeria State.

This has led to several attempts by Biafrans to pull away from Nigeria but to no avail. A major attempt to severe the Union with Nigeria was on 30th May 1967 after thousands of killings and the BIAFRA republic was declared by late General Ojukwu. This attempt led to the worse genocide that claimed over 3 million lives.

Every midnight of 29th May each year, we pray into 30th day of May as we remember the brutal massacre of our Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters and friends whose only sin was attempt to defend themselves from further killings by Nigeria.

On 29th May, in Akwa Ibom State, Biafra Land under the leadership of the Akparawa Emmanuel Udomah, the State observed the Candle Night as directed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the Director of Indigenous People Of BIAFRA.

The Three days activities kicked off on the 27th of May with Prayers and Fasting with the theme: - "Dakkada oh Akwa Abasi anama eñyóñg ye isòñg, nyene mbom bañga mbòn Biafra koro ini mfoniso esíe emekem, ñdìeñ ini edi idagaha emi." (Psalms 102:13)

Day 1. 27/5/2020, Psalms 1 to 50 were read and various prayer points were raised ranging from prayer of repentance, forgiveness, rededication of Akwa Abasi Ibom.

Day 2. 28/5/2020, Psalms 51 to 100 were read and prayers to end the spread of corona virus, healing and protection of our Land Biafra, disappointing the devices of the enemies of the Land, protection of the Leadership of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his team as well as IPOB Members Worldwide.

Day 3. 29/5/2020, Psalms 101 to 150 were read and prayers covered the unity of Biafrans, conversion of the saboteurs, avenge the death of Biafrans from 1914 to date, comfort, restore and deliverance from slavery forever and the declaration of Independence State of BIAFRA.

At midnight on 29th of May, 2020 was the candle Night. It was observed by all the Districts in Akwa Ibom State.

It was a night of historical events as we remembered the Heroes and Heroines of our land who were slain for no just cause.

We're optimistic that Akwa Abasi Ibom will look upon us with Mercy and grant the Independence of Biafra Now.
