While in Aba Abia State, recently, I took a ride round the town to capture the height of the deplorable state of the City following the cries from friends and relatives who reside there.

During my University days in the mid 90's and late, I lived in Aba and I can make bold to say, there weren't many untarred roads in this industrial city. I never saw refuse littered or dumped by the roadside. Aba was such a sweet place to be.

Ahia Ohuru (new market), use to be the second biggest market next to Ariaria International Market. A very big market with great road network. You can drive into the market and park your car in the Car Park.

Ahia Ohuru market was booming with major patronage from neighbouring states Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Rivers State, Bayelsa, Imo, and many others. Nearly all the importers of Textile and Okirika (fairly used) stuff, had their Warehouses in New market. Today, none of these States can access the market anymore because it is at the verge of shutting down due to the horrific state of the roads.

All the roads that leads to this market has shutdown. I forced myself through the heaps of refuse and stinking flood to check inside the market proper and I was not surprised that it was not booming anymore. Low patronage. So many shops under lock.

A summary of my tour is that, Ahia Ohuru market is existing in the worst slump in the world with very high health hazards as a result of Government negligence. Abia State has never been lucky with Governors in the past 20 years. The entire Southeast states are in coma. The people are in hell already.

I tried to speak with some traders in this market and I was shocked to hear that the State Government Officials meets them in this refuse stinking dump to collect Revenue daily😳😳...

All my life, I have never seen a more bizarre scene. Ahia Ohuru market is a sorry sight.

MAY GOD GRANT US BIAFRA QUICKLY. WE MUST FLUSH OUT ALL THE POLITICIANS FROM ALA-IGBO.

SOS TO THE PEOPLE OF ABA.
