On the 12/06/2019, 21 members of IPOB were ambushed and unlawfully arrested by Police Officers from Ikot Ekpene Police station in Essien Udim LGA of Akwa-Ibom State as they were driving out from the venue of a Conference they held to sensitize the invitees on the need to support BIAFRA restoration project.

Notable amongst those arrest is a less than Two years old child whose mother only carried on her back all through the travail, again is a Driver who was taken on chatter and wasn't an IPOB member.

13/06/2019: MOVED TO UYO POLICE STATION
The 21 Members were moved to Uyo Police station, Ikot Akpan. Here, the Police Officers released the Woman with a Baby and another child, and asked them to go home but to their shock, the woman refused to go. She insisted she must stay back with her Comrades but she was forcefully released. The Bus Driver who was not a member of IPOB was equally set free.

14/06/2019: 17 MEMBERS OF IPOB MOVED TO MAGISTRATE COURT
The Police, very early hours of this date moved members to Court without any information to their Lawyer nor did they allow the Detainees to reach out to their Lawyer. At the Court the members insisted to see their Lawyer before making any response. After much pressure, one of them stood up and said they were IPOB members and that they have denounced Nigeria years back, praying for Biafra to come. They also pleaded Not Guilty to the charge preferred against them, and which was:
"That you Organized a system of intimidation known as IPOB which caused fear to residents of the community and thereby committed an offence..."

14/06/2019: MOVED TO AKWA IBOM STATE MAXIMUM PRISON
The case was adjourned to 01:07:19 for next hearing. All 17 members were remanded in Prison custody and immediately moved to Akwa Ibom State Maximum Prison.

The more we are attacked the more we push, the more formidable, the more we agitate, and the more we get closer to Biafra...

IPOB!    One Family!
