The Keke
riders in Ebonyi state were forced to match in solidarity for David Umahi's re-election
come 2019 by the leadership of TRASSEB over their political ambition and love
for money from the state government.
The match took place in Abakaliki
the capital city of Ebonyi State on Wednesday 15, August 2018.
Some of the commercial tricyclist
who spoke with the news men confirmed that the leadership of the union is
really using them for political business which is against their individual
wish.
During
the Rally which the members of TRASSEB, were forced into by the leadership, the
government of the state through the commissioner of youths and sports in Ebonyi
promised to give the union some unspecified amount of money, when they reached
the Ebonyi township stadium, which a share will only be given to any member who
presented his PVC to the leadership of the union.
Reacting to this, some members of
the union complained that not even a kobo will be given to them by the union
leadership despite wasting the time and resources for the rally.
According to the order from the
leadership, anyone who refuse to comply to the resolution of the union will be compelled
to pay the sum of N5,000 thereafter.
The union paid N200 only per person to ensure the rally
hold in support of the sitting governor, David Nwaeze Umahi come 2019.
