Aba the commercial hub of Abia state, wore a different look on the 25th of July 2017, as the Abia writers organized an epochal Children's conference in remembrance of the children who lost their lives due to starvation/malnutrition during the Nigerian genocidal war against Biafrans.
The conference, which was the first of its kind in the whole of West Africa had many IPOB dignitaries, and crowd that attended to honour the conference.

People were seen hanging on masts as the venue for the occasion couldn't contain the crowd. The kids exploited the wonderful opportunity created by Abia writers, to enlighten the world on the mayhem unleashed by the ruthless Nigerian army in collaboration with the British government on the Biafran children and women during the Nigerian-Biafra.

During the war, the Nigerian/British government used food blockade as a weapon of war to exterminate the Biafran people, not putting into consideration the newborn babies, nursing mothers, the little children and aged women, who according to rules of engagement in war are not targeted or harmed.
At about 12:45 pm, the wife of the supreme leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mrs Uchechi Okwu Kanu, who was the special guest of honour, arrived Ukpor hall, on citing her vehicle, people shouted and hailed her. Names like, "Ezi Nwanyi ma obi di ya", "Oso di achi", "Mama Biafra" were heard, coming from both male and female IPOB members as they tried getting a better view of her amidst tight security.

Mrs Uchechi Okwu Ka waved to the people in response to the warm welcome she received from the people. Mrs Kanu was presented with a welcome song by the children of Oganiru family Zone. After the welcome song, she headed upstairs, where the event was taking centre stage.

She addressed the victims of 2015, 2016 and 2017 massacre by the Nigerian army during protests, remembrance day and ordinary zonal meeting days. She sympathized with those who lost their loved ones or sustained injuries in the quest for the restoration of the Holy land of Biafra. Mrs Kanu made it Clear to them that they (the victims) will never be forgotten." They have shed their blood for this course, the covenant of blood is a very strong one and this blood will keep tormenting Nigeria and others who don't support the freedom of Biafra until Biafra is restored ". she added.

She told the victims that a body has been created to look into their affairs and take proper care of them. She urged the Aba IPOB faithfuls to always remain formidable as they are close to the end of the tunnel. She said that it was after the massive turn up of the Aba people during the 2015 Fallen heroes remembrance day at Christ the King Cathedral (CKC), that she learnt the road was clear and that nothing will happen to her husband since he had the people's support. She advanced to the upper floor, where the children were intensely waiting for her arrival.

As the children saw her entering from the door, they all stood as they shouted: "mummy you are welcome".
