Leaders are known for their courage and ability to influence change in the lives of their followers. Nnamdi Kanu has the qualities of a leader. He has influenced the lives and reasoning of every Biafran.

On the 22nd of June 2017, IPOB members from Anambra, Oyi, to be precise were present at the palace of Eze okwu kanu, in Afara Ibeku, where they were welcomed and addressed by Mazi Nnamdi kanu. He told them to pay deaf ears to rumors making the round especially by the Nigerian media that IPOB is sponsored by the big time Nigerian politicians and money launders. He said "we have come for freedom, no going back. We will work hard until Biafra is restored and Nigeria eventually collapses. There is nothing anybody can do to halt the movement".

Nnamdi warned the IPOB faithfuls from Anambra not to take part in the Anambra state electoral processes. He encouraged them and said "Don't be afraid, for it's appointed unto man to die once. Enlighten people so that they can understand our stand. We don't crave for material wealth, it is of no use to us, all we need is freedom"

He also spoke on the Biafrans still residing in the north who might not want to return because of their landed properties. He reminded them of how he told them that a time will come when the north will tell them (Biafrans) in the north to go, and that if they refused to go that they would be killed by Hausa/Fulani.

"There is nothing enemies can do to jettison the struggle for the restoration of Biafra, because it was ordained by the almighty Chiukwuokikeabhiama (God)" he reiterated.
He said that the souls of all the fallen heroes are solidly behind the struggle. According to him "It is better we die getting Biafra than compromise the struggle at this stage because, we have died in our numbers. Tell your relatives in politics not to waste their money on campaigns because there will be no election in Biafra land. Anambra will be totally locked down".

The visitors from Anambra presented him with a wooden sculpture with the ten commandments inscribed in Hebrew letters, which they said signifies their total support and loyalty just as Moses and the children of Israel did with the Torah. They also gave him wooden material carved into a hand holding the 'Ofor'. When asked its significance, they said that it meant that Nnamdi is the present holder of Biafra's destiny and Ofor.
