■ March 01, 2017The presiding justices Binta Nyako today being 1st March 2017 has quashed the court case of the leader of the Indigenous people Of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and three others detained and incarcerated with him.
At the Federal High Court Abuja today, the presiding Justice Binta Nyako read her ruling on the application of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to quash the charges against him as the charges lack merit. The presiding judge also struck out six count charges among the twenty charges leveled against Nnamdi Kanu and three others with him.
When Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s leading counsel Ebele E.I informed the judge about the illegal harassment of Biafran journalists is out of hand, following the recent humiliation by the DSS.
Binta Nyako, however, informed both counsels that her previous rulings on the easy passage of reporters’ remains unchanged, and noted that she is monitoring the actions of the security agents and will intervene at the appropriate time.
Currently, the court was adjourned to 20th March 2017; awaiting the total and inevitable discount off all charges leveled against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Biafrans all over the court premises were rejoicing immensely following the rulings by the judge.
