Information reaching Biafra Choice Writers indicate that
Nigerian despotic ruler, Muhammadu Buhari, has bribed some Biafrans of Igbo
extraction to commence a new round of divide-and-rule activities with a view to
whittling down international pressure on him.
Already the activities of these individuals are being felt
across the media, especially the social media, where they argue that Igbo
people should keep Ijaw people out of their Biafra restoration project. The
individuals do not just argue their positions on principle; they also use the
opportunity to take pot-shots at Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for daring
to include other ethnic nationality groups such as Ijaw, Isoko, Ibibio, Itshekiri
and several others.
When Damian Chukwuani of Biafra Choice Writers sought the
opinion of some IPOB leaders in Diaspora, they said they were aware of the
plan, but did not know the execution would be coming from Biafrans of Igbo
extraction. “We had expected that Biafrans of Ijaw extractions and others,
apart from Igbo Biafrans, would be the ones to be used” said Chukwudi Ofoma, a
member of IPOB Directorate of State.
He however promised that IPOB high command was seriously
observing the situation to know how deep some of the individuals were involved
in the plot. Explaining further, he said: “We want to make sure we do not move
against people who were engaged in these acts innocently, without knowing that
money has changed hands in Abuja”.
Instructively, when Buhari came back from the last United
Nations (UN) Summit, the first thing he did was to invite Northern Nigerian
leaders to a meeting to intimate them on the latest development on Biafra
agitation.
He had explained to them that serious pressure was put on
him to release Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader, Director of Radio Biafra and Biafra
Television. He also told them how he was warned sternly that he could not force
unwilling people to belong in the same country with him, and should as such
commence moves to allow Biafrans exit from Nigeria.
After careful deliberations, the Northern leaders had agreed
with him that the best thing under the circumstance would be to make sure that
people of the South-south or Niger Delta were not allowed to exit with the
Igbo. They decided, not only to invite the South-south or Niger Delta elders
for a talk, but also to do whatever was necessary to keep them away from the
Igbo.
Part of that plan is the unfolding attack on IPOB for
working with other Biafran groups in the so-called South-south/Niger Delta in
their Biafra restoration work.
