KANU'S DETENTION: NO RETREAT FOR BIAFRANS

Double standard has plagued the Muhammad Buhari government as shown through his silence on the Fulani herdsmen massacre, and hypocritical support for the granting of statehood to Palestine while he continues to frustrate the agitation for Biafra. Buhari who has declared that military forces should not be used on Fulani herdsmen is also soliciting for grazing reserves for the terrorists all over the nation while killing and detaining unarmed Biafran agitators.

Also, the insistence of the Federal Government to hide the identity of their witnesses against Nnamdi Kanu and others is another sign of unjust and ethnic gang up. Nnamdi Kanu has never lifted a weapon against Nigeria, he has no army, yet Muhammad Buhari has locked him up for 8months and parading false witnesses against him.

With the contracted witnesses exposed, the Buhari led government resorted to using the staff of DSS to appear in a shielded screen with Igbo names to create a negative impression that Ndigbo are against Nnamdi Kanu.

Buhari has unknowingly shot himself on the leg. The continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu will bring more devastating diplomatic doom for Nigeria. Biafrans are ready for the trial.

Buhari sent Nigerian troops to kill unarmed members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB in Aba, Abia State, Onitsha and Nkpor in Anambra state in violation of section 14 (2)(b) of the Nigerian constitution which expressly states that “the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.”
He also gives no regard to chapter 4 section 33 (1) of the Nigerian constitution which states that ‘every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in the execution of a sentence of a court in respect of a criminal offence of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria.’ Buhari has continued to breach these fundamental dictates of the constitution through the premeditated and unrelenting mass killing of unarmed civilians as happened in Aba, Nimbo, Onitsha and Nkpor where scores of unarmed IPOB members and innocent villagers were murdered in cold blood by members of the armed forces and Fulani herdsmen.

The frequent and unpunished killing of unarmed civilians by the Buhari administration not only violates the Nigerian constitution under whose statutes the state is constituted, but also the United Nations Charter, the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights and all other conventions to which the Nigerian state is signatory to. In the event of the rebirth of a Hitler in Nigeria, Biafrans plead to the world to fight the just course and restore freedom to Biafrans as they are determined to die for the course. No retreat for all Biafrans
