Your market store/shops have greedily been destroyed and excavated without pre-information, your shops have been set ablaze jealousy. You have been forced to denounce your religion to acknowledge Islam. Your landed properties have been taken away by cruel even through your Lawyers in a full day. Your Children has severally met their untimely death at cause insurgency brouhaha and organised killings. How many will I count and how may will I forget? You can drop your individual experiences. On 7th January 2016, Popular Oshodi market in the Lagos metropolis was demolished by the State Government of Gov. Ambode as millions of Naira worth of goods is destroyed. Igbo Lagos residents, traders and shop owners woke up one morning to witness yet another massive demolition at the popular Oshodi market in one of Africa’s most commercial city. Both the stores and the good in it worth millions of Naira was destroyed. The Nigeria Police were apprehending Traders trying to go close to get out their goods from the market being demolished.
On 2nd of June 2016, Angry Muslims youths in Kano on Thursday evening decapitated a woman trader (Mrs. Bridget Agbahime) over allegations that she blasphemed Prophet Muhammad. The victim, who is of Igbo extraction was accused of blasphemy during a religious argument at Wambai market. The woman, who sells plastics at the local market was in the company of her husband when she was murdered. Dauda Ahmed and Subeiru Abubakar, according to Force spokesperson Kolawole Olabisi, were arrested suspects out of all the youths who carried out the massacre.  
On 26th of March 2016, Fire destroyed over 4,000 shops at Abubakar Rimi Market, Sabon Gari, Kano. The midnight inferno, allegedly triggered by a power surge, reduced to ash property worth millions of naira but Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) distanced itself from the unfortunate incident. On 3rd of December 2016, No fewer than 65 shops were destroyed by fire in the furniture section of Sabon Gari Market in Kano on Thursday night. The primary cause of the inferno was acclaimed to be negligence because people are in the habit of playing with fire in harmattan period.
On 14th September 2014, Bokoharam, in Kaduna State killed three persons and injured several others. The incident occurred in Malali, on Ghana Road, when the hostiles opened fire on a nearby shop. The Igbo business owner and two other persons were killed. In 2015, Bokoharam shot dead two Igbo Christian traders in Potiskum, Yobe state. The victims were brothers who owned a prominent shop in the city.
I can go on and on without stopping. Brothers and sisters, come back home. Leave your little properties there and come back. Snap your landed properties, document them for further use. No property will be lost if they properly recorded. A word is enough for the wise.
