When Buhari led administration through his Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai launched an attack on 300 Shi'ite members, it was refuted that the Soldiers acted on self-defense. In just concluded Heroes day remembrance of Biafrans, which turned rain of blood inflicted by same Chief of Army staff and his cohort police are yet to acclaim responsibility, rather they claimed to have acted on same language "self-defense. In a statement signed by Deputy Army Public Relations Officer, Colonel H. A. Gambo, the army accused IPOB and MASSOB of launching a combined attack on the peace-loving populace as well as security agencies at about 0415 hours on May 30, 2016, to mark the first anniversary of the present democratic government. The statement read: “The attention of the general public is, hereby, drawn to the unwarranted attack launched by combined members of Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, against the peace-loving populace as well as security agencies at about 0415 hours on May 30, 2016. “This attack was purported to have been orchestrated to mark the first anniversary of the present democratic government as part of the activities earmarked to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Biafra. “Due to the widespread panic, tension and apprehension that generated from the activities of MASSOB and IPOB members, security agencies which comprised detachments of the Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police, Department of State Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, were compelled to intervene, in consonance with constitutional provisions of aid to civil authority where and when such occasion demands. “The over-arching imperative to ensure a reign of peace, security and stability in this circumstance was most starring." I want to take my time to relay these statements made by Buratai. Going by his statement, he recognised that we the IPOB were on the celebration and also said we were action against the populace. This is a straight self-indictment on the side of Buratai. If probably there was a disorder on the side the IPOB members, it must be caused by a human. On the cause of peaceful celebration that took on with church procession and further with singing along Biafran streets what have attracted Police and Soldiers to a scene in a quest to absorb violence, does it deter shooting at suspects when you are just turned to the same scene? In the other hand, if Biafrans has become so violent is it to an extent of killing fellow Biafrans? Because the celebration took place majorly across Biafra land.
This early defence will by Buhari and Buratai will not save them from being caged by International Criminal Court. There is no balanced logic in Burrata's claims. As far/much as I know, Biafrans in no ways have ignited fight against themselves, and the celebration was not a protest but a peaceful celebration. I believe up to this moment; there are no accounted guns or arms which were in possession by IPOB rather both the bullets and guns you Soldiers used are still in your possessions. If the multitude of IPOB were very much equipped and ready to kill you chicken soldiers, I do not think casualties will be below 2 as you claim. I, therefore, call on Buhari to release Dr Nnamdi Kanu and other peaceful Biafrans under his custody. Also call on International Criminal Court, International Court of Justics, British government, European Union, United Nations, International Meeting of Experts, Amnesty International, ECOWAS, and other relevant bodies to fasten up their attention towards the request of Biafrans: arrest Buhari for genocide, free Dr. Nnamdi Kanu and restore the Republic of Biafra.
