The
Nigerian government is facing security challenges from various parts of the
nation.
However, the
security challenge affecting the government mostly
is the constant attacks on oil pipelines by a faceless group named – Niger
Delta Avengers (NDA).
The
activities of the NDA has further crippled an all
ready battered economy struggling to hold its own due to the mismanagement of past and present government
officials. Within few months of their existence, they have caused serious havoc
to the Nigerian economy by blowing up major pipelines owned by foreign oil
companies. Unfortunately, there is no sign that the group will stop the attacks as they get bolder everyday and are beginning to attack facilities
outside their strongholds. The group has since listed their conditions for
peace to reign.
Read the conditions here. However,
it is doubtful that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari
will give into all their demands.
