The power of immunity has actually guided the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose in this present witch-hunting of Mohammed Buhari. The strong Ekiti state governor has been an outspoken in present government of Buhari over so many atrocities. The ones of note are the grazing bill, single account and Hausa/Fulani herdsmen massacre. Governor Fayose, as a man of his word just launched local hunters to go after the herdsmen who Mohammed Buhari referred as Libyan runaways.
The tension between Fulani herdsmen and farming communities has been in existence for many years but has seen a dramatic escalation in recent times to include attacks, kidnappings and killings by the nomads. The group has wreaked enough havoc to be acknowledged by the global community as the fourth deadliest terror group in the world.
The “Fulani militants”, as they have come to be known, is made up of members of the Fulani or Fula ethnic group, a tribe of over 20 million people, 70 percent of whom are nomadic grazers, who are native to at least seven West African countries. Between 2010 and 2013 Fulani militants killed about 80 people in total, but by 2014, 2015 and 2016, they had killed 1,900 people. Benue, Taraba, Nassarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Katsina, Imo, Delta, Rivers, Aba, Anambra, Ekiti and Enugu states have been the worst hit of late having suffered devastating attacks by the Fulani/Hausa herdsmen with a heavy toll in human lives and property.

Muhammadu Buhari blamed militiamen from Libya for the herdsmen attacks in Nigeria after Enugu State massacre. Buhari made the disclosure on Saturday, May 14 in London on the CNN. He said, following the fall of the Ghadaffi regime, some people from the Sahel, who were trained by the government dispatched to other countries in the region and began causing trouble. He added that the custom of herdsmen was to roam about to feed and complained that the cattle routes and grazing areas marked for herdsmen had been taken over and turned into farms by some influential persons.
On this inference, governor Fayose inaugurated local hunters to go after the invaders and crush all since they are not citizens of Nigeria. Following the attack by the ruthless Fulani herdsmen on Ekiti community 22nd of May 2016, killing two people and injuring scores of others, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose mobilised some local hunters with the sum of N2.5 million to engage the herders in a reprisal attack since is a war against Ekiti State. Governor Fayose bears no consequence of any such after killing the herdsmen since Buhari called them invaders. He also put to stop any form of cow grazing across Ekiti State. By Prince Richmond C.
