On 1st January 2019, the Mbaise Indigenous People of Biafra family members stormed the Iwa Oji Mbaise Cultural Festival held in Ife, Ezinihitte Mbaise. On that day the whole people of Mbaise came out for their usual Iwa Oji Mbaise Cultural Festival, which is held on 1st January of every year. Some politicians who were there to hoodwink Mbaise people to vote for them were present. Notable among them are; Emeka Ihedioha an Imo state governorship candidate in the upcoming election who is from Mbaise and Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar's running mate.

They came with bags of money to share to people to get their support so that they can go and vote, even against people's wish and aspiration. At times I wonder if these people have common sense, every four years they will come to the indigent people to ask for support and votes, only to abandon them and none of the electoral promises made by the politicians will be fulfilled. The politicians usually use such occasions to buy votes from impoverished masses by sharing hundreds of naira and few cups of rice that cannot sustain a family of four for a day.

Immediately these politicians were called to come on stage, the Mbaise IPOB family members stormed the venue and disorganized their Campaign by raising Biafran flags and shouting no election in Biafran land until the date of a referendum is given. The angry Mbaise IPOB members were on stage making their people understand that there will be no elections in Biafra land. Emeka Ihedioha and Peter Obi entered their vehicles with their convoys and drove away. The IPOB family members also evangelized in some communities, which are the Ife in Owutu community, Amumara Community, the T-junction connecting the two communities and the one leading to Aboh Mbaise. This is First of its kind in the history of Iwa Oji Mbaise Cultural Festival.

In conclusion, many indigenes of Mbaise agreed with the indigenous People Of Biafra family members' message of election boycott by joining the evangelizing team of IPOB in spreading the word at Ezinifite, Ife, Amaumara etc.
Biafra restoration is our hope.
